SWS UK acquired by international building materials group, CRH plc

SWS UK has been acquired by CRH Roller Shutters & Awnings, part of CRH plc, a listed international building materials group based in Dublin. CRH manages a portfolio of companies spanning primary materials, building products and distribution. This latest acquisition will allow CRH to increase its’ presence in the growing roller shutter and awnings market in Britain and Europe.
This offers a number of opportunities for SWS UK. Founded in 1985 by Andrew Dootson, the company has grown substantially both in terms of product range and market share. As a leading manufacturer of physical security products, SWS UK holds an unrivalled reputation for continual innovation, product development and excellent service. CRH has built up a strong network of smaller independently operating companies, led by local management teams. This will allow SWS UK to continue to operate and market itself under the same name. The existing management team will continue to be fully responsible for SWS UK strategy and SWS will continue to operate through and support the same distribution channels.
The involvement of CRH with SWS UK will bring many tangible benefits to SWS and its partners including the addition of new products and further development of existing ones. This acquisition opens a new and exciting chapter for SWS UK.
