Serving Hatch Made Secure with SeceuroShield 38 Roller Shutter

Lancashire based SWS UK distributor Roller Doors Ltd were approached by a client in Surrey who was making alterations to a village hall and required a serving hatch roller shutter to close off the kitchen area when not in use.

Upon speaking with the customer, they had a number of requirements however the main concerns were that the shutter should be lightweight (so people of all ages can easily operate it) whilst being secure and robust enough to be able to withstand knocks and bangs from kids using the hall.
With this requirement Roller Doors’ initial thought was to go for an electric extruded aluminium shutter such as the SeceuroShield 60 however after discovering the opening size was just over 1000mm wide x 1000mm coupled with the need for a reveal fixed installation this product was dismissed as it was felt it would make the opening too small to remain functional.

As such it was decided that the best solution for this specification was the SeceuroShield 38 as it has smooth and lightweight operation (thanks to spring assisted barrel), features compact components (so it takes up the least amount of room) and has a robust curtain than can withstand the rigours of the environment in which it is installed.

Customer Feedback

“Thank you for your help with this project. We are delighted with the roller shutter and now the alterations to the hall are complete will become a great asset to the building.”
