SWS UK Sculpture to be Unveiled at the National Festival of Making

SWS UK is celebrating their British manufacturing heritage by taking part in this year’s Art in Manufacturing art commissioning programme. During a four-month residency at the Lancashire manufacturer, renowned artist SAPIEN / AKA Steven Anwar has created Wave Sweeper – a new steel sculpture inspired by the contrast of the company’s industrial doors and rural setting close to the River Lune.

Wave Sweeper will be exhibited in the grounds of Blackburn Cathedral at the National Festival of Making, which takes place on 8 & 9 July across Blackburn town centre.

This free family festival is a unique celebration of UK making, from the kitchen table to the factory floor and combines art, making workshops, street food and live music.
